Connecting travelers everywhere to save money and reduce environmental impacts by sharing their transportation for similar and compatible journeys.

Why CarPool?

Car-pool, lift-share, drivers traveling with riders, Carlifts, commuters start van-pooling ride-sharing, liftsharing or hitch a ride or start a lift club. Contact other commuters needing or offering a ride. Commute to work, drive cross-country, share a taxi or a cab, rent a car and split the fuel and wear and tear costs.

Find a casual drive-away or use public transit. Meet people at the park & ride, college, university, train station, shopping mall. Shared cabs, car lifts are alternatives to driving alone.

All about Safety

CarpoolWorld cannot and does not ensure the lawful behavior of the people exchanging information through its web site. You take full responsibility for ensuring your personal safety when interacting with other people whom you meet through CarpoolWorld. Although we have no specific qualifications to advise you on issues of personal safety, the following practices are suggested as examples and illustrations of actions you could take to ensure your personal safety:

• You do not have to disclose your actual home address, work address, or phone numbers, and you do not even have to disclose your permanent email address to other users of CarpoolWorld.
• Your initial face-to-face contact with new people should be in a common, populated, public location.
• Record the driver’s license and car registration information of the other person’s car. Obtain a copy of the driver’s insurance card or record the driver’s automobile insurance carrier and policy information.
• Carry a mobile or cell phone while driving or being driven in case of an emergency.
• If you are the driver, record the personal information of your riders.
• Maybe you can take a few pictures of your carpool partners and their cars. Give this information to your friends or family.

Is there a fee? Suggestions for sharing

Financial arrangements are between you and your match, CarpoolWorld does not get involved in the financial transaction.

Some people share the cost of gas, others coffee, it’s really up to both parties to discuss what is fair.

We can give you an estimate if you are carpooling with 1 other person how you could split the costs based on the price of fuel, additional weekly costs for tolls, parking, if applicable, etc.

Long distance trips

CarPool and Ride Share can also include trips to the city, across the province or even across the country.
